TRUX was founded by Richard Saccone in 2015. Richard recognized the need to help innovate an industry he grew up in, “I just knew there had to be a better solution to finding, tracking, and paying independent dump trucks. There has been innovation in other ‘last-mile’ logistics, why not dump trucks?” Committing full-time to TRUX meant working 100-hour weeks out of his condo, meeting on-site with clients, and putting his life savings on the line to build the initial product. Richard knew he would need more in-house technical talent and recruited his cousin Michael Saccone to join the team. Once the product was ready for launch, there was immediate success with nearly 500k in revenue during the first season. After proving the concept and getting buy-in from customers in New England they knew they would need additional resources to scale the business. In 2018, Richard and Michael closed a series A investment round to support the expansion of the management team and growth into additional markets. Over 2018 and 2019 the business continued to grow across the country and today TRUX offers the nation’s largest network of dump truck haulers, has facilitated over $120M of hauling through our cloud-based solutions, and has logged 45 million miles in over 20 states. Although Rich left his operating role with TRUX in 2018 he is still an observer of the board.
With dozens of new haulers taking their first shift everyday, TRUX continues to stay true to its mission of transforming heavy construction logistics through technology, while improving the lives of our drivers, the productivity of our customers and the health of the industry.
Honestly, you guys are great, I cannot say a negative thing about any of your company representatives that I have dealt with to date.
Using TRUX has allowed us to supplement our backlog and keep our trucks busy during our light days. Settlements are processed automatically at the end of the job and paid via direct deposit the next week. Easy, seamless and well documented – with excellent service.
